Police have registered a case against former Balochistan chief minister Sardar Akhtar Mengal and others for allegedly keeping Maulana Noorul Islam in illegal detention and subjecting him to torture, SP police told APP here on Sunday.

The incident took place on November 3. The case was registered on the report of Najmul Islam, brother of the alleged victim.

Maulana Noorul Islam has been taken to Jinnah Hospital, Karachi for treatment. The JUI has threatened to block highway if the accused have not been arrested by November 9.
